In this unique project directed by Hayk Matevosyan, we recreated famous paintings with real actors, lighting, and sets in slow motion. It premiered as a music video at the Los Angeles Film Festival accompanied by an orchestral score by Serj Tankien and had its video installation premiere at Slamdance DIG where each "painting" played as an infinite loop on TV screens. It also had its online premiere featured as a daily pick on Film Shortage. We shot these six recreations (plus three more that are not featured in the music video version) on Phantom Miro and Arri Amira cameras at frame rates ranging from 200 frames per second to 1000 frames per second. We used vintage Super Baltar lenses, sometimes with Pearlescent diffusion filters, for their painterly quality.
